Some middle school girl took a nude photo of herself in her bathroom and sent it to her boyfriend. After they broke up he sent it to a girl that was friends with her and

Movie Mistakes 3/29/11

There are a totaly of 37 mistakes made in the movie Inception. One mistake is that at first when they were inside it looked pretty gloomy outside, and when they went outside it was much brighter. Another mistake is that Arthur was running on the left side of the wall, and then later is shown running on the right side of the wall. I can see how simple mistakes are made like this in movies. It would take lots of time and effort to edit.

Pilaties in the junkyard 3/15/11

A group of auto parts workers are doing pilaties every Tuesday now. They do overhead work and the exersice helps them out. It is resulting in fewer injuries. I like how they had sound bites of people talking about their experience with pilaties while the camera showed how they worked on the cars, and how they did pilaites in the junk yard.

man and goose form unlikely friendship 3/15/11

A man in L.A. has befriended a goose at the local park. He goes to the park everyday on his scooter, and the goose, Maria, follows him. It is actually really cute. He has to wait for her to go to sleep on the bench before he can leave the park because she tries to leave with him. Maria is also very protective of he friend, Dominic Ehrler. She has tried to attack large dogs to protect him!

Piercings are becoming more and more popular with the youth in today’s society.

“I love piercings because they are a form of expression, and are fun, just like any other type of jewelry.”

Piercings help make the individual in the crowd of hundreds of students.

“Piercings are cool; they make you stand out more as a person.”

The only bad thing about piercings is that depending on where you work they are not accepted and need to be taken out, or hidden.

“I think piercings should be accepted in the work place. It is not right to judge people by their piercings or tattoos. That does not define who they are.”

If you are thinking about getting a piercing make sure you make up your mind for sure. They are not as permanent as tattoos, but can leave a mark if not taken care of properly.

Susan Smith 3/10/11

Susan Smith killed her two children. They were 3 and 14 months old. She put them in the car and let the car drive into a lake. She blamed the incident on a black man, saying she got car jacked while the kids were in the car.  She is in prision for at least 30 years nows.

I think that is awful! She should not even get the possibility of parole. Even though she was sexually abused, that is not an excuse for murdering your own children.

Body Found ontop Broadcast Tower in Michigan 3/9/11

There was a dead body found in Michigan ontop of a CBS broadcast tower. The man was wearing a tshirt and underwear. Authorities say that there were no acts of violence towards the man. They are currently trying to find out how he died, when he died, and how long he was ontop of the broadcast tower. I hope they figure out what happened soon so they can contact his family!

Charlie Sheen 3/8/11

Charlie Sheen is crazy! On Monday he went on the top of a builing with a machete yelling about how he got fired from Two And a Half Men. He was drinking some "Tiger Blood", also. He has done a few videos from his home where he rants about how he is a winner while drinking "tiger blood' and chain smoking cigarettes. I think he needs to go to treatment. Not treatment at home, that will not work. He needs to go to a place out of his comfort zone so he will get better.

U.S. Woman pleads gulity 3/7/11

An American woman living in Scotland pleaded guilty for killing her three children. Her and her husband are getting a divorce and were going through a custody battle when she killed them. Her lawyer says she was suffering from narcissistic, paranoid and hysterical personality disorders and acute stress. I do not understand why you would kill your kids, espically when you are going to court with the father to get custody! There will be more court dates in April. I think this woman needs serious psychiatric help.

JFK Jr. 3/4/11

This article was about JFK Jr. It tells about his "wild side", even though it was not that wild. He smoked a joint in Jamacia. That is not wild. I feel like they are just trying to make this a huge story when it is not.

ARTICLE 3/1/11

A soldier from Rosemount was killed in Afghanistan. He was killed on Feb. 27th. He was a military policeman. His unit was attacked and killed by a homemade bomb. This is sad. I had to read this article because one of my good friends is from Rosemount and in Afghanistan at the moment.

Turkey can be 'inspiration' for Arabs: Erdogan 2/24/11

Turkey has been the example that Islam and democracy can be mixed and do work together. Turkey has had strong religious belief and a democracy for years and it has been fine! I think this is a great article. Many countries are having problems with religion and democracy intercombined. Now I feel like all  I'm hearing about are the Islam countries revolting against their leader.

Facebook Photos Land Kids In Trouble 2/23/11

In 2008 about 100 students from Eden Prairie got in trouble for having party pictures on their Facebook. I understand that the students that are involved in sports or clubs got in trouble, or suspended for a couple days. I do not agree with the students that are not involved in school getting in trouble. I would be upset if the school looked on my Facebook, that to me is an invasion of privacy. I think in the future schools will be more strict with students posting pictures of them engaging in illegal activities. Basically once you enter school you loose all your rights. They have the right to search you and your car if they feel it is necessary. You have way more rights outside of school.

Wisconsin Power Play

The article is confusing and boring. In Wisconsin they are trying to save money and cut teachers pay. Many people are upset about this. Lots of teacher are calling in "sick". One person compared this to Cairo, Egypt. Which is a very off colored remark, I think. This is nothing compared to Cairo. Paul Ryan, who said that, should really think before he talks.

Corporations begin spending cash 2/16/11

Corporations were hoarding their cash in the last quarter. With the economy how it is everyone is trying to stay ahead of the game, even large companies. More and more companies are investing more money in equipment and such, which is good! Hopefully that will create a little more work out there for the many Americans that are out of work. The unemployment rate has gone down from 9.4% to 9%.

St.Louis Park Schools Shut Down 2/14

Public schools are shut down in St. Louis Park. They believe that there is asbestos from kids walking in the schools with so much dirt and salt on their shoes. The tiles are degrading and they did test positive for asbestos. The schools will be cancelled tomorrow. All after school activities were cancelled too. That is good that they figured out what was going on with the tiles in the school. Hopefully the school won't be closed for too long, but I'm sure the kids don't mind.

Egypt Military Takes Charge 2/10/11

Chaos is still happening in Egypt. Now their military has stepped in. The United States is still not doing anything drastic. We are supporting the transition to democracy. President Mubarak will likely step down and let someone else take over soon; as he told the protesters that their needs would soon be met.

Lindsey Lohan Charged With Grand Theft 2/9/11

Lindsey Lohan, actress, 24 years old, is formanlly charged with grand theft now. She is still on probation from a drunk driving incident in 2007. She stole a necklace from a jewlery store that was $2500. Apparently friends of Lindsey Lohan say that she thought the necklace was loaned to her. That is too bad for her, she has been in trouble with the law for a couple years now and this is not going to help. She has been in jail three times in the last three years and will probablly be going back.

Romania may get even tougher on witches. 2/8/11

Not too long ago Romanias government put higher taxes on witches and fortune tellers. There is a new bill that threatens witches and fortune tellers with fines and possibly prison time with bad predictions. The witches argue that the new bill is unfair and it is not their fault, but the cards fault, if the predictions are false. I understand that the government needs to get money. I do not think it is fair though to put crazy taxes on the witches and fortune tellers.

Super Bowl 2011 Commercials

Many people were slighty disappointed in the commercials shown last night during the game. Companies are spending more and more money on advertising now. My favorite commercial was the one with the kid in the Darth Vadar costume trying to start his dad's car with the force. Then the dad started the car from inside the house with the automatic starter. That commercial was clearly for Volkswagen. They used humor to get the point across.

What are the differences between print journalism and broadcast journalism?
1.

2.

3.

How is the Internet impacting broadcast journalism?

Why are reporters being attacked?

Many reporters are being attacked in Cairo Egypt. Anti Bubarak people are protesting to get him out of office. A Sweedish reporter was stabbed. Lots of cameras have been taken, reporters have been assulted, and some even threatened with guns pointed to their heads. I think what is going on in Egypt is awful, espically with attacking the reporters. They are just trying to show the rest of the world what is going on. People have the right to know and seek out information without being attacked.

Gunfire, clashes erupt as night falls in Cairo. 2/3/11

Panic spreads all over Egypt. The people of Egypt want their president of over 30 years, Mubarck, out of office. The government has made very little effort to help out the people with unemployment. Protests are going on and a total of 13 people have been killed so far. There are raging fires going on around town burning stores and hotels.
